    Healing the Bear: Engineering Alternatives for the Lake Street Dam Meeting Info

    The results of an engineering alternatives study for the Lake Street Dam will be presented via Zoom Webinar on June 23 at 5:30 P.M. With grant support from the Great Lakes Fishery Trust, Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council has enlisted OHM Advisors to conduct the study on behalf of the City of Petoskey, who owns the dam and is also contributing toward the study.

    Wastewater Treatment Plant Discharge Permit Public Notice

    The Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, also known as EGLE, issues a discharge permit to the City of Petoskey for the wastewater treatment plant.   This document permits the treatment plant to discharge to Little Traverse Bay. When the permit is issued by EGLE, the community must be informed, allowing residents to review and comment on the new requirements.

    Kalamazoo Avenue Reconstruction Project To Begin May 11

    The 2020 Streets Project includes the reconstruction of Kalamazoo Avenue from East Mitchell Street to Jennings Avenue. Preliminary work will begin the week of May 4th in preparation for a May 11th start-up of construction activities. (See below for construction phasing).  Preliminary work will include staking by survey crews, Miss Dig utility flagging, saw-cutting and staging of traffic control devices. The contractor for this project is Tri-County Excavating, LLC of Harbor Springs.
