Community Garden

In the spring of 2010, luscious green began to sprout from what was a longtime stretch of dormant land in Petoskey. The Petoskey Community Victory Garden was born.

The area, known as “Hungry Hollow,” which sits along Sheridan Street, was a place where the Native American community pulled together during the Great Depression to share food, heat and resources.
After years lying untouched, the spirit of that very spot returned with the Petoskey Community Victory Garden. The garden allows beginning gardeners to learn first-hand how to plant, maintain and harvest an organic garden by giving participants a chance to rent a piece of land for a small fee to grow their own garden.
