The City of Petoskey Energy Smart programs offer Petoskey electric customers incentives for replacing inefficient electrical devices with newer, high efficiency units. Residential, commercial, and industrial users can all save by utilizing these incentives and installing higher efficiency electrical appliances, lights, and fixtures.
Energy-Efficient Lighting
Compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL's) use up to 75 percent less energy and last up to ten times longer than a traditional incandescent bulb. They are safe and better for the environment than incandescent bulbs when properly used.
Two FREE CFL's are available for pickup for all City of Petoskey residential electric customers on a first-come, first-serve basis at City Hall, 101 East Lake Street. Supplies are limited, so stop to claim yours today!
You can dispose of your used CFL's at the Emmet County Department of Public Works Pleasantview Road Drop-Off Center.
Commercial & Industrial Prescriptive and Custom Incentives
The prescriptive program offers incentives when replacing inefficient equipment with high efficiency technologies on a one-for-one basis. If your project is among those listed on the prespcriptive portion of this application form, simply complete the form and submit for your incentive.
Energy efficiency improvements that are not included in the prescriptive portion of the incentive application may qualify for custom incentives. See the "Custom" tab on the form below. Download the incentive application here and call the program office at
