William J. Fraser

Mayor

Mayor Fraser, 63, was elected to serve as Mayor for the City of Petoskey in 2012.  Mayor Fraser has served as Second Ward Councilmember.  Mayor Fraser is co-owner of Jesperson's Restaurant, a 104 year old family owned business.  He attended North Central Michigan College, served in the U.S. Coast Guard and is retired from a 30 year career in the Fly Fishing Industry.  He is married to Bobbe and has four step children and 16 grandchildren.  Mr. Fraser has resided in the City of Petoskey for 44 years.  Mayor Fraser may be reached at:

Kate Marshall


Ward 1 Representative

Councilmember Marshall, 66, had served First Ward residents from 1996-2000, and again was elected to serve a two-year term  beginning in 2012.  Councilmember Marshall serves as Mayor Protempore.   Councilmember Marshall also served a three year term as Mayor from 2001-2003.  Councilmember Marshall is co-owner of American Spoon Foods.  She holds two Masters Degrees in Education and Fine Arts from the University of Detroit and Wayne State University.  Councilmember Marshall also serves as an Election Inspector for the City of Petoskey.  She is a former City of Petoskey Planning Commission member and was a Petoskey-Harbor Springs Community Foundation Board member.  Councilmember Marshall is married to Justin Rashid, and has three children.  She has resided in the City of Petoskey for 32 years.  Councilmember Marshall may be reached at:

Thomas Postelnick

Ward 2 Representative

Councilmember Postelnick, 73, was first elected to serve a two-year term by Second Ward residents that began in 2011.  Councilmember Postelnick is currently retired from  a career with the City of Petoskey as its Director of Public Safety. He attended Police Recruit Training and Police Sciences Academy at Highland Park, Illinois, Executive Institute for Suburban Police Chiefs at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, and Training Institute of the International City Manager Association for Managing Fire Services.  He served in the United States Army, 1st Infantry Division as a Sergeant.  He and his spouse, Barbara, have two children.  Councilmember Postelnick has resided in the City of Petoskey for 23 years.  Councilmember Postelnick may be reached at:

Grant Dittmar


Ward 3 Representative

Councilmember Dittmar, 59, was first elected to serve a two-year term by Third Ward residents in 2012.  Councilmember Dittmar owns and operates Dittmar's Timepieces (Chronotech), established in Petoskey since 1978.  He holds a B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan.  Mr. Dittmar has volunteered time and equipment to help produce over 150 videos of City meetings for TV and the Internet.  He is also Council President of his church, and performs trumpet with the Jordan Valley Band.  Councilmember Dittmar has resided in the City of Petoskey for 54 years.  Councilmember Dittmar may be reached at:

Ronald C. Marshall, Ph.D

marshall150pxCouncilmember Marshall, 67, was first elected to serve a two-year term by Fourth Ward residents that began in 2009, and again was elected to serve a two-year term beginning in 2011.  Councilmember Marshall is a Psychologist and holds a Ph.D. degree from Union Graduate School, is married to Carolyn Matzinger, and has one daughter.  Councilmember Marshall has resided in the City of Petoskey for 18 years.  Councilmember Marshall may be reached at:
